THE RIGHT TO FEEL SAFE- ANTI BULLYING
Our school
has a no-bullying policy, and has worked hard to develop strategies to
monitor and track bullying in our school.
All
students R-7 complete a bullying survey once a term, and the results are
published in the school newsletter (no names are used). Students have
the opportunity to anonymously name students they feel are bullying them
or others. Students who are named 4 times or more are then counselled so
they can learn what others don't like, and to find better ways to get
along with others. Parents are also given the opportunity to complete
these surveys. We have found this process to be very successful in
changing student behaviour.
