At Littlehampton Primary School, all students learn French as a second language. The lessons are between 45 minutes in duration, and take place once a week for younger students and twice a week for older students. The focus is on learning to understand and speak simple French and enjoying using the language. Students take part in speaking, listening, reading and writing activities. They are encouraged to speak French every lesson, often with a partner or in small groups so that they feel confident. Often students in different year levels learn similar topics so that siblings can practise with each other at home. Students also enjoy taking part in games and activities as an enjoyable way to cement their learning. Merci, au revoir!! |
